NOW HIRING! Kitchen Lead - Trainer
The Fountain on Locust is seeking a Kitchen Lead and Trainer to join the team. In this role, you will be one of the top kitchen leaders at one of St. Louis’s most popular restaurants.
This person will be responsible for:
Running Kitchen Shifts - Ensuring food quality and staff performance.
Responsible for keeping your staff on track and ensuring they arrive on time and perform at a high level of productivity. Responsible for managing your own time efficiently with the goal of little to no overtime.
Monitoring and improving kitchen turn times.
Running our kitchen training program, developing new kitchen training programs and reporting on the success of employees.
Ensuring that kitchen staff are continuously growing into their next opportunity, earning their next pay raise.
Creating weekly schedules for kitchen staff - must be published 2 weeks ahead of time, and should account for scheduling shifts and accommodating of employee schedules and availability.
Assisting with Hiring, Sitting in on Interviews
Communicating with HR team when new hires are needed
Working with the General Manager and HR on disciplinary and termination issues as they arise.
Checking employee performance on the fly each shift and give feedback to improve performance - checking for plating, tasting preps to ensure consistency of quality and presentation.
Reducing waste through strong processes and ordering.
Helping us ensure Food Safety standards are continuously maintained
Reporting any equipment or maintenance issues to leadership and following up to ensure quick resolution.
Working with the GM to ensure performance reviews are given regularly, along with raises - providing any relevant feedback.
Candidate Must:
Be ServSafe Certified
Be able to manage time and hit deadlines
Be able to write and deliver training
Have a History of Leadership or Training
Be a Servant Leader - able to support and teach
Be comfortable with technology - able to use or learn Sling for scheduling.
Have familiarity with Google Drive or Microsoft Word/Excel products and be able to use these to track employee training.
Have a car, insurance and license as they may be asked to pick up products when needed.
KM Reports to: Fountain Owners, General Manager
Responsible for: Kitchen Administrator, Assistant KM and ALL Kitchen Team Members
Salary: Starting at $42,000 to $46,000, commensurate with experience. Opportunities for increases with time, based on performance.
